Quotes

Amos Johnson, M.D., Southfield, MI

“Today, interactions are so important between drugs, safety factors with allergies and patient illness. Things such as renal failure and liver failure need to be collated and monitored and when I write a simple prescription or send a patient for a simple test, I have to be aware of those factors. With time being a critical factor these days, a solution such as Care360 Mobile that does all of these things for me consistently and accurately is an important part of the care process.”

Dr. Johnson

Thomas Wolf, M.D., Prairie Fields Family Medicine, Fremont, NE

“From my perspective, ePrescribing is the wave of the future. When I use ePrescribing, I find that it’s accurate, it’s legible, it’s safe for the patients; it’s checking allergies, it’s checking medications, it’s going to be something that all physicians will use in the future.”

Dr. Wolf

Jonathan Greenblatt, M.D., New York Heart Associates, P.C., New York, NY

“Care360 makes it easy for physicians to be on top of lab results. The immediate availability of information makes patients feel well-informed and well taken care of.”

Dr. Greenblatt

Edward Fein, M.D., Central Jersey Lung Center, Jamesburg, NJ

“Care360 Mobile is an extremely convenient tool which has helped me to deliver more efficient patient care even when I’m not at the office. I am now able to submit medications directly to pharmacies as well as check medication lists during off hours from the convenience of my iPhone.”

Common Features

A review of 2006-2008 operational data from Surescripts and RxHub indicates that electronic requests for prescription information, the responses to those requests and the number of prescriptions routed electronically totaled nearly half a billion.
A study funded by the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association projects that 75 percent of doctors will be writing and sending prescriptions electronically by 2014.
Section 132 of the MIPPA of 2008 authorizes a new and separate incentive program for eligible professionals who are successful ePrescribers as defined by MIPPA. This new incentive program is in addition to the quality reporting incentive program authorized by Division B of the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006 – Medicare Improvements and Extension Act of 2006 (MIEA-TRHCA) and known as the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI).
Care360 ePrescribing enables physicians to take advantage of CMS ePrescribing incentives.

Electronic prescribing (ePrescribing), a prescriber's ability to electronically send an accurate, error-free and understandable prescription directly to a pharmacy from the point-of-care, has the potential to improve the safety and efficiency of medication use. An ePrescribing solution can encompass anything from a stand-alone drug reference to an electronic script writer that creates, verifies, and delivers prescriptions to patient specified pharmacies. Government programs such as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) are providing physicians with tremendous incentive opportunities and the ability to enhance and streamline the care process.
